The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation is NYX’s version of the CoverFX Custom Cover Drops except that unlike the CoverFX, it can be used alone. It’s a watery foundation that you dispense with a dropper and it’s called “total control” because you can supposedly control the coverage:
- Sheer: 2 drops +
- Medium: 3 drops +
- Full: 4 drops +
For this line, I am a shade 09 or a Medium Olive.
In this video, I demonstrate application using 2 drops, then 3, and 4. I settled on using 4 drops of the foundation but I would say that at this stage, it was only a full-medium coverage. I then test it out for wear and check in after 6 hours of use.
I actually got rained on by the end of the day, but surprisingly, even after lightly washing my face with water and dabbing it dry with a towel, there was no transfer and my foundation stayed intact.
I have dry skin but I used moisturizer, moisturizing sunscreen, a priming balm, and an illuminating primer on my cheeks before application. I applied with a beautyblender and ended up with a demi-matte finish. By the end of the day, and after running errands and sweating through 36C heat outside, I was only a bit shiny in my T-zone and experienced a bit of fading in my chin.
My main problems with foundation are 1) finding a shade match, and 2) when it clings to dry patches. The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation matched my skin tone perfectly or at least as close as I can see, and it didnt emphasize any dry patches. My favorite thing about this product is how easy it was to apply and blend to look very skin-like.
Because of these factors, I rate it:

I am honestly so glad I purchased it and think this is the best foundation I currently own.
The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation costs P750 in NYX outlets and in beautymnl.com.
