The Product That Changed My Mind On Primers

I have never been a believer in primer until recently. It’s simply because moisturizing thoroughly has always been enough for me for my makeup to stick well, sink into my skin, and last the entire day. The times that I did try to use primer, I felt that my skin just became drier than it already was or my makeup didn’t look as good as without it or it simply made no difference. However, I decided to give it another shot when I got the Fenty Beauty Pro Filtr foundation.

Catrice Prime & Fine Beautifying Primer

Because that foundation was too matte for my taste, I decided to try and mix it with whatever radiant primer that I had on hand to infuse it with a bit of shine. I liked the Catrice Prime & Fine Beautifying Primer well enough on its own but have never really maximized the use out of it because I felt it didn’t make a huge difference on my skin. So that day, I decided to try and mix it with the Fenty Beauty foundation to see what happens.

And OH MY GOD I have never been happier with my base since that moment! It was just the perfect combination for my skin type and concerns. I now use it every  single time I wear makeup as both a base and to mix with my foundation. It photographs beautifully and I feel that it gives my face a really nice even finish to it compared to using just foundation and moisturizer alone. It has micro-pearls that look like extremely fine glitter and I love the effect it gives on my skin.

I am not sure whether it makes my base last longer, as my base, with the way I apply it, typically lasts me the entire day with no trouble whatsoever. But this combination held up very well even when I had to sit directly in front of a grill when we spontaneously decided to eat at a Korean barbecue. I thought my makeup had already melted off with how much I sweated but when I checked in the mirror afterwards everything still looked just as good as when I applied!

Catrice Prime & Fine Beautifying Primer

I highly highly recommend the Catrice Prime & Fine Beautifying Primer if you have dry skin like mine and are looking for an inexpensive radiant, hydrating primer that gives you a diffused glow all over and works well with a foundation with a similar formula to the Fenty Beauty Pro Filtr foundation. It retails for $7.99 in the US.
